Resources during a Power Outage

Event Status:

32,000 customers had their power turned off up and down Napa County on Wed morning. THERE ARE NO additional shutoffs expected in Napa County for this event.

Power restoration will not begin until AFTER  the weather event is over. Inspections related to restoration will begin Thursday afternoon.  Full restoration could take up to five days.

There could be outages related to the winds that are not related to the PSPS, Red flag warning issued through 5pm today.

Here is a Link to the Napa Valley Register article about what’s open. The area around Bel Aire shopping center has power with businesses and gas stations open in the immediate area, and working traffic lights!

Resources and Info:

Charging stations – The County has opened additional charging stations. Please see the attached press release which includes an update on all of the current charging stations and hours.  Most charging centers are open from 8AM to 6PM but some have additional hours. The key purpose of the stations is for power charging, some have other services including WIFi and snacks. Please see this map to see where outages are and where the nearest charging station is.

Food and Medication Safety – A press release went out from the County about food and medication safety please share. Food borne illness and water safety continue to be a priority. Check your refrigerated medication and speak to your doctor if in doubt.

Generator safety – Attached is information on generator safety.

Call Center – The call center will now be staffed from 7:00AM to 7:00PM with bilingual staff. The call center is for resource information, call PG&E directly for questions regarding the power outage. The number is 707-299-1501

Medical Health branch –CERT and law enforcement are doing door to door well checks for medically vulnerable individuals.

Additional information – Firefighters are standing by and law enforcement has increased staffing. With many traffic lights out, road safety continues to be an area of focus. Please give yourself extra time for travel.

Food:  

The Salvation Army Congregate meal is open to all and they may be opening up their Canteen (mobile food unit).  More info to come about food next week.   

Grocery Gift Cards – ParentsCAN will have some cards to help folks buy essentials. It’s a very limited amount of $25 per person in form of a Safeway gift card.  This for low income families (proof needed via Medi-Cal/WIC card or pay stub) and who are in a PSPS zone, with verification.

Mental Health – Mentis and Aldea are available for those who are experiencing trauma on the anniversary of the fires.

Childcare:

The Boys and Girls Club in American Canyon and Napa will be open from 8AM to 6PM through Friday to support families since many schools are out. All youth six years and older are welcome. 

Napa Clubhouse is located at 1515 Pueblo Avenue. American Canyon is located at 60 Benton Way. Bring a sack lunch and an afternoon snack is provided. For information about up-valley clubs check out their Facebook page: Boys& Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga.
