There is life after high school.

Are you 16 or older, with an IEP in high school, and starting to think about your future? YouthCAN is for YOU.

  • Do you have a plan for life after graduation?
  • Are you thinking about going to college?
  • Do you want job training, or maybe to start working right after high school?
  • Know exactly what you want, but need help figuring out how to get there?
  • Feeling stuck, unsure, or overwhelmed? Wondering if it's possible to just stay in high school forever?

Learn about your choices for college, career training programs and job opportunities. Get help with applications for financial aid and accommodations, or practice interviewing for a job.

Take the NEXT STEP

The YouthCAN Next Step program is designed just for you. You'll meet one-on-one with our coordinators and connect monthly during a resource class at your high school. During this time, we’ll provide guidance on important topics like career choices, goal setting, social skills, self-care, and self-advocacy.

You can also get extra one-on-one help with things like applying for benefits, filling out college forms, or job applications. Our coordinators know the challenges, and they’re ready to guide you through.

Who We Are

Our Lead Coordinator, Dalton, has always shared a passion for working with underserved communities, especially those with disabilities. Dalton was a ParentsCAN volunteer before he was a staff member, donating countless hours of his time during the Pandemic shutdown to help us distribute food boxes to families and seniors that were homebound. He attended Santa Barbara Community College and holds accreditations in Parent Project, Mental Health First Aid, Triple P Positive Parenting Program, the Arc School of Special Education Training, Para-educator Certification, and PEAK Trainings.
