Key Transitions on Your Child's Journey

Early Intervention to Preschool

The transition from Early Intervention (0-3 years old) to Preschool (3-5 years old) is one of the first major transitions you and your child will experience on your special needs journey. A key change in this transition is moving from an IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) used in Early Intervention to an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) used by the public preschool programs and an IPP (Individualized Program Plan) used by the Regional Center for clients ages 3 and up. This section of the e-Resource Center aims to help you understand what is entailed in this transition.
